Conducting research and innovating
Training and research centers
IMT Mines Albi has 3 training and research centers where scientific and technological research is carried out. Each center is headed by a director assisted by a team of research fellows, post-docs, doctoral students, engineers, technicians and administrators:
- RAPSODEE Center UMR CNRS 5302 conducts research in the field of renewable energies, biomass, waste and eco-activities and in the field of powders, health and nutrition;
- Clément Ader Institute Albi-UMR CNRS 5312, which is devoted to the study of structures, systems and mechanical processes;
- Industrial Engineering Center, which is interested in the kinetics of organizations for the development of methods and decision-support tools in heterogeneous, collaborative and uncertain contexts.
Since March 2020, the Clément Ader-Albi Institute has been a Restricted Regime Zone (ZRR) by order of the Ministry of the Economy and Finance. This restricted area currently concerns the perimeter of the Clément Ader-Albi Institute: the ICA-A wing and the MIMAUSA platform. All staff must obtain access authorization from the school administration via an online request form.
Research and innovation platforms
IMT Mines Albi has developed 5 research and innovation platforms attached to the 3 centers. These platforms are intended to federate skills in order to better ensure innovation and the transfer of technologies to partner companies, and in so doing become a partner in their industrial activities.
- MIMAUSA platform
Inaugurated in 2015, MIMAUSA (Implementation of Materials for Aeronautics and Active Monitoring) is a technical platform for testing material-forming processes. It is attached to the Clément Ader-Albi Institute.
- GALA platform
Inaugurated in 2011, in Castres, the GALA® ( Advanced GALenic ) platform is a shared technical platform, oriented towards Research and Innovation , specializing in the development of innovative galenic technologies intended for the pharmaceutical, food-health industries and public research laboratories. GALA® is certified by the Cancer-Bio-Health Pole. It is attached to the RAPSODEE UMR CNRS 5302 center.
- VALTHERA platform
Inaugurated in 2017, VALTHERA (Thermal Valorization of Transformation Residues from Agriculture) is a technical platform specialized in the development of thermal processes with high energy efficiency for the recovery of residues and by-products from biomass. It is attached to the RAPSODEE UMR CNRS 5302 center.
- IOMEGA platform
Inaugurated in 2017, located on the premises of IMT Mines Albi, IOMEGA is a research and demonstration platform specializing in the development of decision support tools in complex and / or highly collaborative environments. It allows companies, whatever their size, to carry out their research and development programs on these themes. It is attached to the Industrial Engineering Center.
- IOMEGAVR platform
IOMEGAVR is an experimentation, demonstration and training platform specializing in the development of immersive tools dedicated to the engineering and management of response networks. The topics covered range from artificial intelligence in the service of decision-making to immersive training, including the visualization of complex situations. It is attached to the Industrial Engineering Center.
